Calculator

The time saved takes into consideration a manual speed of 10 blister cards per hour compared to a Chronopac speed of 30 blister cards  per hour.

The production economy takes into consideration manual production time against Chronopac production time over a year based on salaries paid.

The CCV takes into consideration a time saving of 2 minutes per blister cards. Using the Chronopac reduces the time associated with correcting blister cards.

Example

In my pharmacy, I have 200 blister card patients. Marie, my technician, manages to make an average of 10 blister cards per hour manually. Thanks to the Chronopac, it is possible to complete up to of 30 blister cards per hour, saving 693 hours of time per year. Considering a salary of $25 for technicians and $65 for pharmacists or CCVD technicians, I realize a production saving of $19 413 per year. In addition, in container-content verification (CCV), considering a saving of 2 minutes per blister cards, it is possible for me to save $25 237 per year for my pharmacists. Ultimately, each hour saved on verification allows the pharmacist to perform 4 additional acts per hour. At a rate of $20 per act, the added value translates to an additional annual income of $27,733. My total financial benefit is $72,384 per year! (Considering an average of 12% of Employer-paid payroll taxes)

Calculator CPO

The CPO cost takes into consideration salary and blister cards volume.

The average Rx represents the average number of prescriptions.

Example

In my pharmacy, I have 200 patients using blister cards. Marie, my technician, spends around 5 hours per week managing the blister cards (approximately 25% of her total time allocated to them) and earns a salary of $25 per hour. The cost of my prescriptions is $0.80 and my average number of Rxs is 8. Considering the salary related to the management of the CPO, if I multiply the cost of my prescriptions with the number of Rxs and the volume, my total cost per week is $1405. Per year, I pay $73,060 for the preparation of pill boxes with the CPO.

Calculator - Operation Cost of the Chronopac

*The Chronopac cost represents an estimate based on the average cost (robot and monthly payments amortized over 8 years). The calculations presented are provided for estimates only, and actual results may vary depending on several factors specific to each pharmacy.

Example

In my pharmacy, I have 200 patients using blister cards. Our new Chronopac costs $3,369 per month (estimate based on the average robot price and monthly payments). Our technicians are paid $25/hour, technicians trained for CCVD earn $30/hour and pharmacists $65/hour. We estimate that a technician manually produces 10 blister cards per hour. With the Chronopac, we see a 50% time saving. Therefore, taking into account the technician’s salary and the number of hours allocated to preparing blister cards, we calculate a preparation cost of $1,212 per month. Furthermore, the Chronopac reduces the time allocated to CCVD by 2 minutes per blister cards; consequently, the monthly salary to be paid to our CCVD technician is $970 and $210 for the pharmacists under CCVD protocols (10%). In the end, after acquiring Chronopac, our pharmacy spends a total of $5,761 per month, thus $69,138 per year. This represents a savings of approximately $4,000 per year compared to the CPO calculator presented in the section above.

Beyond the time savings and directly measurable cost reductions, several significant benefits remain difficult to quantify, such as production stability, error reduction, employee retention, improved working conditions, and daily peace of mind.
